In the Style of: Sean Gordon Murphy
The fifth and final drawing in my “in the style of” series is based on the artwork of Sean Gordon Murphy (1980-). Once you’re familiar with his work, his dynamic, distinct style is easy to spot. His Batman “White Knight” series made a splash 3-4 years ago, and Sean remains active as a creator. itscaptainsun.com
In the Style of: Bruce Timm
Next in my “in the style of” series is how I imagine Bruce Timm (1961-) drawing CAPTAIN SUN. Timm was co-creator of the popular “Batman: The Animated Series” (1992-1995), and through that show, the character Harley Quinn. His style has that awesome vintage cartoon/comics feel. itscaptainsun.com
In the Style of: John Byrne
Here’s the next (#3) of my “in the style of” illustrations depicting CAPTAIN SUN. Here’s what the Captain might look like if drawn by British-born, Canadian-raised American, John Byrne (1950-). Byrne has such a clean, technically tight style, and had incredible runs with titles like X-men, Fantastic Four, Alpha Flight, and Superman/Man of Steel. itscaptainsun.com
In the Style of: Darwyn Cooke
Here’s the second of my “in the style of” illustrations depicting CAPTAIN SUN. Here’s what the Captain might look like if drawn by Darwyn Cooke (1962-2016). Darwyn had such a unique, retro style, and still has many, many devoted fans. itscaptainsun.com
